Leonie Visser
Assistant Professor Leonie Visser is currently working at both the UMC Utrecht (department of Bioethics and Health Humanities) and Amsterdam UMC (department of Medical Psychology). With a background in medical psychology and a strong track record regarding medical communication research, she has investigated medical communication preferences, processes, experiences, outcomes in the dementia context (in memory clinics and the public health setting). Her research has informed the development of communication recommendations and tools to support person-centered communication, for example when it comes to dementia risk communication. Currently, she focuses on stimulating person-centered care and communication in healthcare at large, yet still with special attention towards the dementia field.
